Attack of the Online Comics Events!

You may still be stuck inside, waiting for your dose of the COVID-19 vaccine (thank you, Dolly Parton), but that doesn’t mean you can’t take part in some amazing online comics events!

As we approach the one-year anniversary of Shut In Theater, there are more options than ever when it comes to online comics events. Here are just some of the possibilities to fill your March schedule! Abraham Riesman on True Believer


On Monday, March 8
th, 2021 at 8:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, you can attend
a free event hosted by the Westport Library that will see
Abraham Riesman discussing his new book,
True Believer: The Rise and Fall of Stan Lee.

Using graphic novels in the classroom! 

On Wednesday, March 10th, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. Central Time, you can take part in a discussion on using graphic novels in the classroom with RH Graphic creators Chad Sell (The Cardboard Kingdom), Mika Song (Donut Feed the Squirrels), and Judd Winick (HILO series).

 

Tuan Nguyen, who cofounded the Maverick and Little Maverick Graphic Novel Reading Lists for the Texas Library Association, will moderate the event. You can register to attend this conversation here!

Create Comics with Dav Pilkey

On March 22nd, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time, you can take part in the “Create Comics with Dav Pilkey” global classroom event! This online event will give kids around the world a chance to create their own comic under the tutelage of the cartoonist behind smash-hit books like Dog Man, Cat Kid Comic Club, and Captain Underpants.

While this event is free to attend, you need to register in advance, which you can do here!
