Streets of Central City
Barry solemnly walks through Central City and looks at an underpass as he holds a bouquet of flowers. As he is checking to make sure he is in the right place, he gets a metahuman alert.

Kamila and Chester receive the alert and offer to help Barry, who tells them he will handle it.

Jewelry Store
Barry follows the alert and finds that Hartley Rathaway, the Pied Piper, robbing the place. Flash is confused as last time Hartley had quit being The Pied Piper. Flash asks why he is doing this as Hartley tells him he still feels betrayed by Team Flash, clearly a change that has happened as a result of Crisis. Piper flies off, and Barry chases after him.

Central City
Barry arrives at where he believes Piper is headed, which turns out to be a train track. Flash stops again, confused, and is almost killed by a train, vibrating his molecules in time, so the train passes through him.

Speed Lab
Barry becomes frustrated by the changes he doesn’t know due to the Crisis and the New Earth and asks Gideon to figure out all of the changes that have taken place. As he is working, Chester and Kamila come in, and Chester quickly realizes that Barry is The Flash. Gideon interrupts and tells him there are 3.725 trillion changes due to Crisis. Chester continues to come to terms with Barry’s secret and tries to make a modification to his comms – join the team. Barry gets upset with Chester, and he leaves. Kamilla asks what is bothering him as he reveals that he can’t find his parents’ graves in Central City since the changes due to Crisis.

Mirror Dimension
Eva tells Iris that the prototype that exploded and trapped her in the mirror dimension might be the key to getting out if they could rebuild it in the Mirror Dimension.

Central City Citizen
Nash seeks out Allegra under the pretense that he needs her to use her powers to charge some particles for him. Allegra asks why Nash is always acting like he has known her forever. Nash stumbles to find an answer as Sherloque appears, calls him a liar, and says that his experiment is not going to work.

Nash has Allegra power-up, and as she tries to charge the device, it explodes. Allegra is the first to recover and finds the picture of her doppelganger and Nash that he had on him and asks him who that is and why it looks like her.

Speed Lab
Barry goes to test his tech, but it accidentally knocks him out.

Barry wakes up in a cage in an unknown lab and doesn’t have his speed. Caitlin and Harrison Wells (Thawne) enter and talk about the preparations to power the particle accelerator. Barry soon realizes that something is up when Caitlin mentions going to check on Ronnie.

“Iris” visits Joe at the police station and asks if he has any information on Carver for her investigation into Black Hole. Joe tells her that he can’t disclose any details of his ongoing investigation even to his daughter. Iris tells her dad that like Barry, he is not trusting her as she yells at him. “Iris” then apologizes and suggests they get lunch later.

Frost returns from A.R.G.U.S. and finds Chester moping about and asks where Barry is.

The two enter and find Barry passed out on the floor.

Mindscape
Caitlin comes back in and tries to talk to Barry. Harrison also comes in and comments that even gorillas can be temperamental. Barry checks his reflection and realizes he must be in Grodd’s mind even though Grodd is still trapped in a mental coma in ARGUS’ prison. Grodd reveals that he wants Barry to suffer and understand what it’s like when his powers are taken away and that he’s used his time in prison to think about his crimes and begin to atone for them. Barry asks Grodd if he knows how many people he has hurt. Grodd says that while in the coma, he only had access to his primitive thoughts and has decided to change and asks Flash to trust him because he needs his help in fighting “The Gatekeeper.” Grodd opens the cell door and returns Barry’s speed as punches and knocks Grodd out instead.

Chester tells Frost he wants to impress Barry, just as they find him passed out in the present-day. They hook Barry up to technology that proves that someone is inside his brain and try to reach him. As they are doing this, Nash walks in as Chester thinks that it is Harrison Wells who is supposed to be dead.

Nash talks to Frost about the incident with Allegra and asks for advice on how to explain to her what is going on and why he cares so much for her. Frost tries to determine his relationship with Allegra but only gets that she was an ex-employee from his Earth.

Barry finds a portal and jumps through only to find himself in Keystone Forest and is met by Solovar — the Gatekeeper — stands in his way and says Flash won’t escape as the two fight.

Barry’s body begins to convulse in the real world during his fight with Solovar. Frost warns that if Barry dies wherever he is, then he will die in the real world. Frost realizes that Barry must be in Grodd’s mind due to the brain waves. Frost says that Barry will die sooner than later, because of Grodd’s telepathic crown can’t take the stress of two minds sharing it. Chester realizes that his accident put Barry in danger when he tweaked his earpiece by 900%, trying to impress him with his abilities. Chester leaves the room in part because he has experience with being told that he doesn’t deserve a second chance. Frost tells him she’s going to give him a second chance and that putting Barry’s life in danger is a rite of passage for the members of Team Flash. Chester tells her that as a kid, his teacher told him that there are no second chances in the real world. Frost tells him that she is giving him a second chance this time.

Joe’s Office
“Iris” enters the office and starts to look for Joe’s case files. She gets a call from her dad, who asks where she is as she tells him that she forgot and is running behind and will be there soon.

Mirror Dimension
Iris says that Eva has been hiding in the mirror dimension and that she knows Eva can get them out. Eva says she will try and goes to the mirror and sticks her arms through and screams as she pulls them out, and they are bleeding, and all messed up.

Barry returns and finds that Grodd has taken a projection of Joe. Grodd says that this world is crumbling and that he knows there was a Crisis and reveals that changes have occurred post-“Crisis.” He asks Barry to help him get to Gorilla City, so he can finally be happy amongst his kind. Barry says that he is right, and they should both let go of the past. Barry realizes that they need to try something new – and fight Solovar together.

Forest
Barry and Grodd merge their minds, temporarily giving Grodd speedster powers.

Barry is able to tell Team Flash what’s happening, and Frost realizes that if they don’t separate their minds by the time they escape, they’re both going to die. Chester returns and suggests a way to save Grodd and Barry potentially. Barry tells Chester that he believes in him and that he is a genius.

Solovar begins to get the upper hand as Barry instructs Grodd in how to use his powers against Solovar, and he ultimately succeeds in delivering a lightning punch. The two then enter the portal as Chester configures the mechanism.

Barry wakes up in the real world, no longer connected to Grodd.

Later, Barry tells everyone that he talked to Lyla at A.R.G.U.S., who agreed to let Grodd out on probation to Gorilla City, as long as they can track him.

Kamila gets a call that Cisco is coming back, and Barry apologizes to Chester for how he acted before. Chester reveals that he was able to find Barry’s parents’ graves. Before the two can say anything else, they get an alert that the Pied Piper has struck, as Barry asks Chester to help.

Mirror Dimension
Iris apologizes to Eva as she bandages her arms. Eva says that it is okay and that she wanted to prove to Iris that they are trapped.

Iris walks off, and Eva talks to “Iris” who has the same wounds and apologizes for causing her pain, but it had to be done.

Central City Citizen
Nash approaches Allegra and apologizes and makes good with her.

Sherloque appears and changes into Thawne.
Flash Facts Episode Rating: 3.5 out of 5
Overall, the episode was solid once it got going. It did however feel as though this should have been the first episode after Crisis. It was great to see the Pied Piper again and hopefully he will return and reveal what changed in the post-Crisis timeline that made him at odd with Team Flash again.
It was nice to see that Chester is going to be hanging around and it seems that he is the only one who remembers what happened in the Post-Crisis New Earth while the rest of Team Flash doesn’t. I am glad that Cisco is coming back as the vibe (Pun) o
The bad “Iris” storyline continues to take the wind out of the episode and the Mirror Dimension segments are losing my interest also.

Kid Flash returns to Central City with a Zen attitude and new tricks up his sleeve. While thrilled to see his family again, Wally confides to Barry that he returned because he thinks there is something wrong with the speed force. Meanwhile, Cisco returns from his fact-finding mission across Earth-Prime.
